While the Switch continues to eat all the other consoles' lunch, a few new titles dropped last week. Metroid: Samus Returns and Pro Evolution Soccer 2018 were the top selling new releases, with the latter on top with over 64,000 sales. For a remake of an old yet popular Metroid 2, 30,855 sales seem about right.
Champion Jockey Special just squeezed in at number 20, reminding me of Japan's love of horse racing. I'm not sure what it is they love so much about horse racing to have so many games based on it, including nearly every arcade devoting a large area to virtual horse racing. I even grew up in Kentucky where horses and horse racing are huge, but no one in Kentucky made a bunch of video games around it.
