News:: BlizzCon won't have any Diablo announcements

Blizzard is setting expectations for this year's BlizzCon and if you're a Diablo fan, here's the rub: "while Diablo will be on the show floor, we won't be making any new Diablo announcements. There will be a time for that at some point in the future," according to the company, "but that time is not now."

The Diablo team added that "Patch 2.6.1 is on the horizon. Looking beyond that, we're hard at work on the future of Diablo and exploring what's next for the franchise. Please be patient."

Admittedly, I'm a little surprised by this heads-up. I figured there'd at least be something small to talk about at BlizzCon in lieu of a major update or expansion. That said, I never got around to Rise of the Necromancer, and I don't know that I realistically ever will play it. I'm ready for the next game.

On that note, Blizzard is currently hiring for Diablo. Wonder what sort of wait we're looking at here.
