News:: Specializations will finally return to Battlefield 1

The Specialization system is set to return in EA's Battlefield 1, allowing combatants to acquire skill-boosting perks when out on the front line, engaging in digital warfare.

Specializations, for those less-inclined, are effects and abilities that can be applied to your killbot, adding new skills or providing passive boosts, such as faster movement, less weapon recoil, or shorter cooldowns.

As announced on the DICE subreddit, the Specializations will be broken down into two categories: Generic and Kit. Every player will start out with Flak, Cover and Quick Regen by default, with further Specializations being unlocked upon completing various "Service Assignments" a progression system that will be expanded upon at a later date.

The Specialization system is currently being tested via the PC version of the community test environment (CTE) They are expected to debut alongside the In the Name of the Tzar expansion next month.
