News::DayZ Developer Revels in Mod's Success, Calls Out DICE's Past Anti-Mod Comments

AusGamers has posted an excerpt from a forthcoming interview with Bohemia's Matthew Lightfoot who serves as production assistant on DayZ and is one of the original DayZ mod-team members, writing: Of course, there have been many developers downplaying the importance of mods and the mod community in more recent times, something Lightfoot is happy to rebel against in the sheer success of their own product. "The exec producer on Battlefield: Bad Company said something along the lines of modding is dead; well we certainly buried it alive didnt we," he says with a laugh. "I loved ArmA because of the customisability: you could download a mod and get a new aircraft -- there was so many mods for it, and thats what kept me playing.
