While it would have been nice to see Dragonborn for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim hit PC earlier than it did, the Steam release is now behind us, and Bethesda has a nice bonus on top of it. For those users who can handle high-resolution textures, the studio has put out an update which offers improved textures for Dawnguard, Hearthfire, and the aforementioned add-on.
"Before you download, make sure your PC has the horsepower to support it," cautions Bethesda. "Make sure your system requirements exceed Skyrim's recommended specs before attempting to install, and that your PC has Windows Vista/7, a minimum of 4GB of system RAM, and a DirectX 9.0c compatible NVIDIA or AMD ATI video card with at least 1 GB of RAM and the latest drivers."
Speaking of Skyrim, I need to get around to reinstalling one of these days -- I'm now physically and mentally ready to spend a weekend screwing around with mods. From the looks of it, there's plenty of catching up to do.
