After a testing period, the Xbox One fall update is now ready for the masses.
These sorts of console updates tend to blur together in my mind and today's is no different. Microsoft is bringing out a lot of incremental changes, as exhaustively detailed in this eight-minute walkthrough video, but there are a few standout elements here. Namely, the Home screen sports a new look with more customizable layout options, and the Guide has been reworked for ease of use and speed.
A few other bullet points:
- You can have up to 40 pins. Is that enough for you?
- There's a dark, light, and high-contrast theme (selectable from the Settings menu).
- GameDVR support for 4K/HDR screenshot and video capture. If you own an external drive, you'll be able to tell the system to automatically save your footage there instead.
