I can only imagine what it's like to watch a trailer for Earth Defense Force 5 without knowing what the series is about and why, for the right type of person, it's a damn good time despite looking like an outdated mess. "Why do they chant 'EDF! EDF! EDF!' in the comments? Who are these people?"
This video serves as a decent intro to the game by summarizing the different classes, previewing the new giant frog men and humanoid alien boys, and retaining the series' outlandish humor.
Notably, while Earth Defense Force 5 is set for a PlayStation 4 release this year in Japan, today's video from D3 Publisher has English subs. It's only a matter of time before we get a release window, too.
