A year later, Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima has accepted an award at The Game Awards 2016, this time for being an "Industry Icon." His acceptance kicked off this year's show, with a very emotional Geoff Keighley recounting his failed attempts to hand him the winged trophy.
"Last year, I thought I lost everything," he said. "But I didn't lose anything, thanks to all of you."
And thank you, Kojima, for whatever the hell Death Stranding is shaping up to be.
