PAX Australia is only a few weeks away, and the lineup of panels and exhibitors was finalized earlier today. You can check out the full schedule on the PAX Aus website, and the Guidebook app for iPhone, Android, Windows 7 phones, and Blackberry ('member Blackberry?) has been updated with the most recent show information. In addition to the schedule and exhibitors, PAX confirmed that Microsoft's Major Nelson (Larry Hyrb) would be providing the keynote address to open the show.
This will be the third PAX in Australia, and attendees will be able to check out upcoming releases from Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo, Ubisoft, Bandai Namco, and many others. Previous PAX shows have featured hundreds of indie video games, as well as representation from board and card game creators like Wizards of the Coast. Visitors will also be able to check out panels on topics as diverse as virtual reality hype, becoming a professional eSports player, and making sure games are accessible for those with disabilities.
Even if you're not heading to the show, the FAQ is worth checking out. It contains answers to some questions I doubt were especially frequently asked, such as "Isn't Mel Gibson Australian?" and "Isn't it hard to get games in Australia because they're so expensive/they don't get released?" If you're fortunate enough to be going to the show, don't forget to check out the guide M. Randall Dixon put together a few years ago. He wrote that one in reference to PAX West, but everything should still apply.
