News::Why The Candy Crush Saga/Banner Saga Dispute Is Important

To say publisher King is the successor to Zyngas Ville franchise is a bit of a no brainer. Then on December 27 2013, King filed a notice of opposition with the US Patent and Trademark Office, attempting to prevent indie Stoic Studios from trademarking the name of the Kickstarted Viking strategy game, The Banner Saga. Within the notice of opposition, King claims that Stoics use of the word saga is confusingly and deceptively similar to its own range of Saga titles."
