Broken Sword 5: The Serpent's Curse was split into two parts to reassure Kickstarter backers, it has been revealed. Revolution Software's Charles Cecil said that he was keen to avoid the "bad horror stories" of other crowd-funding titles by releasing it by the end of the year as planned. "We promised to finish the game for Christmas, and it's lovely that people care so much, but as we got closer and closer, people really started asking," he told Digital Spy. "It became clear about a month ago that we weren't going to finish it for Christmas to the quality that I would want. "There was the choice of postponing it, and there had been some really bad horror stories about other Kickstarter developers, and the way they've treated their audience. I really, really didn't want to be a part of that."
