News::First-person mopping space guts in Viscera Cleanup Detail

It feels like it's been forever since the first-person custodial genre has gotten any love. Thankfully, this oversight is being rectified with Viscera Cleanup Detail, which is currently seeking votes on Steam Greenlight and playable thanks to this early alpha download. I often complain the entire first-person perspective has been monopolized by shooters, so I'm glad to see a scrappy indie team come in to clean those shooters' clocks.

The game is the product of an internal, 10-day game jam at developer RuneStorm. It tasks the player with tidying up the messy aftermath of a thwarted alien invasion. From the looks of it, the toll was heavy on the human side, unless the aliens have red blood. Shouldn't aliens have different color blood? I think so. Anyways, massacre be damned. Why mope when you could mop?

Viscera Cleanup Detail features first-person mopping with the world's greatest mop (look at those bloated mop tentacle physics!), organ and viscera incinerating, and more. It's kind of amazing. Especially when your mop gets too bloody that it just starts spreading more blood all over unless you wring it out in the bucket, but why would you wring it out in the bucket when you could paint a bloody masterpiece like you're Clint Eastwood in High Plains Drifter.

If you dig this, you more learned folks might also enjoy Surgeon Simulator 2013 .
