News:: Analyst states that Switch's first 10 months is on pace to outsell the Wii in the same timeframe

The Nintendo Switch is doing very well. How well? According to industry analyst Mat Piscatella and data from the NPD, it's on pace to outsell the Wii's first 10-month sales by 20%.

According to Piscatella, the Switch could even exceed this figure and beat out the Wii's massive 101 million in lifetime sales, mostly because of the fact that it's a hybrid, and families could be keen on "multi-ownership." Piscatella states that if Pokemon comes out next year on the Switch somehow, it could have roughly 40% or more of the hardware market.

I doubt that we'll get Pokemon that early, but then again, Nintendo seems to really want to frontload the system and woo potential investors and developers right now. I mean we have a mainline Zelda and a mainline 3D Mario already jockeying for Game of the Year wins from just about every outlet on the planet -- so I'd say it was a good year.
