News:: Destiny 2's PC version seems up to the task, check out its settings

When a PC port for a big AAA game is released these days, the first reaction is to just sigh. So many publishers aren't willing to put the work in on the platform, and more often than not, we end up with non-optimized console versions slapped onto Steam, or worse, completely broken ports that are never fixed. None of those doomsday scenarios seem relevant for Destiny 2 though.

All of your standard fare like an FOV slider and individual graphics toggles are there, but the big win for Bungie is 4K HDR support with 60 frames-per-second. Based on my tests this claim runs smoothly, and I especially dig all of the superfluous options like (mute the game when the window isn't focused), and the power to alter the reticle's location and color.

Destiny 2 will be released next week on September 6 on PS4 and Xbox One -- the PC version is coming later on October 24. Frustratingly, despite the enhanced visuals and upgrades on PC, Sony once again locked up exclusivity on a bunch of content on PS4.
