The Nintendo Switch presentation might be over, but news is still seeping out. As heavily rumored leading up to tonight's event, the system will have its own Mario Kart title. A familiar one, at that.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is the "definitive version" of the well-liked Wii U game with the DLC packed in and added features. It won't be out in time for launch, but the wait for April 28 won't be too bad.
Expect characters like Splatoon's Inkling Boy and Girl, King Boo, Dry Bones, and Bowser Jr., plus new and returning tracks (Luigi's Mansion from Double Dash!! and Battle Course 1 from Super Mario Kart), the ability to carry two items (such as the robbing Boo and the high-jump-enabling Feather), eight-person local multiplayer, and a "revamped" Battle Mode with Balloon Battle and Bob-omb Blast.
If we can agree on one thing, it's this: the music in Mario Kart 8 is not messing around.
