Earlier this year, NIS America announced that that it was going to be bringing the Aqua Style-developed roguelike Touhou Genso Wanderer to Western territories sometime in early 2017. Today we finally have a little more specificity as to when the Touhou roguelike will be ready to hit store shelves. Touhou Genso Wanderer will be released in North America on February 7 and Europe on February 10.
Alongside the confirmation of a Western release date, NIS America also announced that physical PS4 copies of Touhou Genso Wanderer will also come with Touhou Double Focus, which is a small 2D platformer that centres around the characters Aya and Momiji. Touhou Double Focus will also be available separately as a digital download for the PS4 and Vita.
One thing of note about the tie-in copy of Touhou Double Focus will only be available physically in North America. Europeans will have to be contented with a digital download code for the game.
NIS America also revealed a North American collector's edition for the PS4 version of the game, which you can pre-order on the company's online store for $80. It will contain:
- Collector's Box
- Touhou Genso Wanderer Game for PS4
- Touhou Double Focus Game for PS4
- 90-Track, 4-Disc Touhou Genso Wanderer OST
- 26-Track, 2-Disc Touhou Double Focus OST
- Full-color, 68-Page Hardcover Touhou Genso Wanderer Art Book
- Full-color, 16-Page Softcover Touhou Double Focus Art Book
- Acrylic Standee (6.5" x 3" x 2")
- Reversible cover
Unfortunately, PS Vita owners in both Europe and North America will have to make do with a digital copy of Touhou Genso Wanderer, as NIS has confirmed that physical copies of the game will be available only on the PS4. As someone who has already filled an exorbitantly expensive 64GB Vita memory card, I can't help but find this news to be somewhat frustrating.
