Analog Addiction writes, "If you asked me what Vertical Drop Heroes HD was, I would immediately tell you it was a mix between the rogue-likes Spelunky and Rogue Legacy. The former, in that the player maneuvers their way down to the exit at the bottom of the level. Its similarities to Rogue Legacy come from the ability of your characters to level-up. The one problem is, while trying to take the best of both games, Vertical Drop Heroes HD ends up doing neither justice. The result is a been there, done that experience which left me with little desire to die over and over again."
