News::Weekly Digital: Contra III and 16-bit badassery

"While everyone recovers from the feasting of Thursday and the rampant consumerism of Black Friday, game companies are still fueling the flames with some digital gaming deals and new releases. Nintendo dropped a few classic bombshells on Thanksgiving Day, with Konamis Contra III: The Alien Wars making its way to the Wii U Virtual Console. That game is so badass that it lets the player strike a pose during its most explosive moments by simply holding L and R down. Sega has also joined the party with 3D versions of Space Harrier and Super Hang-On, both of which are must-haves for any Sega fan. Rounding out the eShop this week are a bunch of discounts on various Mario titles. Sony is offering Soul Sacrifice for free to all PlayStation Plus users, as well as a bevy discounts on different versions of Dragons Crown and Persona. Meanwhile, PlayStation Vita continues to keep JRPGs relevant with the release of Ys: Memories of Celceta." - Patrick Kulikowski
