The Witcher developer CD Projekt RED is expanding out of Warsaw, Poland with a second studio opening next month to work on a separate game. In a statement provided to Gamasutra, managing director Adam Badowski shares the news:
"This July we are opening an office in Krakow. As we informed in our strategy outlook some time ago, aside from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Cyberpunk 2077, the studio aims to develop two smaller (approximately 20h of gameplay) premium quality titles. Consisting of 20 people, the core team in Krakow will be responsible for developing one of these games."
As much as I'm anticipating both of those titles -- and I really, really am -- it'll be nice to have something else in the pipeline. It's also humorous to me that a 20-hour title and "smaller" can be dropped in the same sentence. That's just how CD Projekt rolls.
