News::League Of Legends And ESports Thrive In China, Alongside Online And Mobile Games

Riot Games is holding a huge tournament in Shanghai this month. Last fall, Blizzard Entertainment used that same Chinese city to stage the Battle.net World Championship (BWC). Theres a reason eSports events are happening in China, its one of the biggest potential growth markets for not only pro gaming, but for online and mobile games, as well. In the new Chinas PC Online Games Market Report from Niko Partners, the research firm forecasts that the Chinese online games market will reach $11.9 billion this year. Over the next five years the market will add more than $2 billion in revenue per year, and that growth is actually a slowdown for China.
