Forbes - Star Trek: Into Darkness, directed by J.J. Abrams, opens in movies theaters across the U.S. today. The film [avoiding spoilers] centers around the U.S.S. Enterprises mission to find and stop an indomitable super-man, John Harrison, who led a deadly attack on Starfleet headquarters in San Francisco. He appears to be a former agent of the top-secret Starfleet Section 31 organization. Captain Kirk, whose ship is armed with powerful ultra-destructive photon torpedoes, leads the crew to Kronos on a manhunt for Harrison for the purpose of destroying him as a deadly threat to the Federation and its ideals. When Kirk and his crew arrive on Kronos, he discovers a different truth about Harrison, and the field of battle takes a dangerous and climactic turn for humanity and for Earths future.
