News::Activision adds microtransactions to Call Of Duty: Black Ops 2

From tomorrow, Xbox 360 Black Ops 2 players will be able to buy “micro items” in game using microtransactions.

“This content contains either personal customisations or nice little luxuries that I’ve seen players request,” writes Activision social media manager Dan Amrich, noting that more details will be releases tomorrow.

“None of them affect gameplay, but they are small, specific ways to enhance your online experience.”

The micro items, which will follow on other formats in the near future, include maps – such as Nuketown 2025 and Nuketown Zombies – personalisation packs and extra weapons slots. Personalisation packs will be themed, containing a unique weapon skin, three targeting reticules and a custom player calling card.

Anrich offers the example of a bacon pack that wraps your weapons in said meat. You can find more details here.
