My first Warhammer 40,000 game was Fire Warrior, which pretty much sums up the historical cyclical nature of the series in the gaming world. Games Workshop kind of just hands out the license to anyone, diluting the franchise in the sense that every game is wildly different in quality. For every good Space Marine there's a mediocre Deathwing, and so on.
Well, we're getting yet another 40K project with Inquisitor – Martyr, an open world sandbox RPG, but the good news is that you can try before you buy. The developers are holding a public alpha event on February 10. I'm highly intrigued by the four player co-op and base building elements, but like all 40K games, my expectations are in check.
