News:: Kojima says the Nintendo Switch is an 'extension of Transfarring'

Remember all the way back in 2011 when famed Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima was talking about this new-fangled creation called Transfarring? It was a pretty cool concept at the time, transfering saves between platforms, and even had its own logo. His mojo was stolen by Sony for its "cross-buy/cross-save" campaign that's still going on today, but he still isn't giving up on championing the original concept.

Speaking to IGN at RTX Sydney, Kojima stated, regarding Transfarring, "I believe [Switch] is an extension of that idea. The fact you can play something at home and take it outside, this is the gamer’s dream. The Switch is an evolution of that. For example, often when you buy a Blu-Ray disc, it'll have a code on the inside for a digital version, so in the same respect you can watch it at home and then take it on the go on your tablet and smartphone. This is how movies and TV are moving, and this is how games should go."

He's not wrong! Appealing to both "physical only" and "digital only" crowds at the same time is a great strategy, and leaves no money stone unturned. Whether Death Stranding with support Transfarring, however, is unknown. If he was able to get Sony to agree to put in an extra digital code with the disc, that would be pretty baller.
