Despite what you might assume the developers of Guacamelee! are actually Canadian. But then Grim Fandango was made by a Californian company and the only actually Mexican developer we can think of is Larva Game Studios, who made wrestling game Lucha Libre. And yet while the games origins may not be quite as exotic as the vivid art style suggests this is still one of the best action adventures of recent years, and now in new and improved next gen costume.
