VGW's Will Harrison: Sean Velasco and company have married art design that elicits memories of an age of gaming long past, memorable and quirky characters in a beautiful, pixelated world, and a control scheme that shows how far platform physics have come along in twenty years. Shovel Knight is a joy to play, even after the nostalgia haze wears off.
