News::Far Cry 4 on PlayStation will allow co-op with friends who don't own the game

Far Cry 4 showed up earlier today at Ubisoft's press conference, but while that appearance was focused on the villain of the story, the showing at Sony's E3 press conference was all about action. The demonstration begins with lead character Ajay picking up a grappling hook and a wing suit, which allows for some acrobatic moves and a daring escape.

Once at the base of the mountain, he calls in help from another player, who drops in seamlessly as a man named Hurk, who pilots a gyrocopter to aid Ajay, almost like the Tails to his Sonic. Sony emphasized a very cool feature, exclusive to PlayStation consoles: As long as the first player owns the game, he or she can invite any friends to provide backup, whether or not the second player has paid for a copy. Smart move, as it is bound to get more players into Far Cry who might not have already planned to play it.
