News::Super FX chip and Mode 7 helped extend the SNES's lifespan


The Super Nintendo is still my favorite console of all time, due in no small part to the huge amount of SNES titles made for it. It was the ones developed towards the end of the system's lifespan that left such an impact on me, and that was largely thanks to the Super FX chip and Mode 7 that developers took advantage of to get past the limitations of the console's hardware.
