Zachary writes, "Darkout is a 2D Sandbox game with procedurally generated worlds, not dissimilar to Terraria or Starbound (with which Darkout was released on the same day as), interwoven with elements of the 4X genre and with a slightly more emphasized narrative to provide context. Open starting the game, an intro movie plays detailing your landing pod being ejected from a very large, derelict looking spaceship towards a nearby planet. This planet is Illuna, a strange, hostile world populated by shadowy creatures, abandoned by humans after mysterious circumstances force a swift evacuation. Its up to you to survive on this strange world, craft new tools and items to assist you, and unravel the mystery of Illuna.
