News::Hands-On: Castlevania: Lords Of Shadow 2 [Save/Continue]

After the stellar reintroduction of the Castlevania franchise, MercurySteam proved they could take the longstanding Konami franchise and breathe new life into it, making it more than a Gestaltist collection of Uncharted-esque traversing, God of War chain combat, and the hallway structure of Final Fantasy XIII. The bridging title, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow Mirror of Fate, with all its long-winded nomenclature, offered very little in the way of game and provided a rather weak continuation of the Spanish developers first effort with this new take, ending up more as a storytelling vehicle than a game. However, with news that MercurySteam was opening up the world a bit to give players a greater sense of freedom rather than having them traverse pretty-laden corridors and be the king of the creatures of the night, Dracula. The Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 demo Konami had at E3 2013 represents only one of these things.
