Lara makes her return as a 21 year old woman fresh out of University, embarking on her first adventure with some friends in search of the Lost Kingdom of Queen Himiko. The adventure begins with a very short cut scene before Lara is washed up on a strange island, she is cold, frightened and alone. Her vulnerability really shines through which is very much unlike the Lara Croft we know from previous titles. Crystal Dynamics have done an amazing job with Lara, she looks like a real woman unlike her cartoonish 90s predecessor which makes the game feel like a mature title, she is one tough cookie who has to struggle to survive this harsh wilderness
