IGN - Downloadable content is always most successful when it takes a game and characters that you know well and puts them in a new, ideally implausible setting like Red Dead Redemptions Undead Nightmare, or Borderlands Zombie Island of Dr Ned. (It doesnt have to involve zombies, but hey, thats clearly been successful so far.) One-off what-if stories work best as bite-sized experiences, and DLC is ideal for that. Assassins Creed 3s first add-on looks promising, on these criteria. Its an alternate-history story, and though its set in the same beautiful snow-covered frontier that Assassins Creed 3 brought to life last October, it sees you doing quite different things.
